Ruby is a fourth year from Fairfax, California. She is a neuroscience and linguistics double-major, and she is Medusa’s webmaster and music director of production. Ruby’s favorite type of snake is a gopher snake, because she used to have one named Snakeface, and he was a very friendly and polite snake.

Rioghna is a third year transfer student from Minnesota, and a newb in Medusa this year! She is a Political Science major on a premed track, with chemistry and health and society minors. (How does she do it? We will never know.) She loves the rehearsals when Abigail brings baked treats. Her favorite Medusa arrangements are Kill of the Night and Good Kisser/Little Black Dress, and her favorite snake is the eyelash viper because it’s “SO COOL and I’m so cool.”

Amelie is a first year from Chicago majoring in Economics. Her favorite part of Medusa is being a part of a close-knit, talented, and supportive singing community. Her favorite arrangement is All I want. We are so excited to have her in the group!

Lakshita is a first year from St. Louis. Her favorite Medusa arrangement is Kill of the Night. She’s an astrophysics major and pre-med! Lakshita’s favorite part of Medusa is having fun together at rehearsal- she feels like Medusa is a family. We’re so excited to have her in the group!

Leah is a fourth year from Chicago. She is assistant artistic director, vice president, and one of Medusa’s A Cappella Council representatives. She loves being in Medusa because we can create something beautiful that is equal parts of all of us, which is appropriate because her favorite Medusa arrangement is Woman/Sucker/Troublemaker, a mash-up of equal parts of three different songs. She likes king snakes because they “eat themselves sometimes and look like ouroboros which is funny.” This is definitely the best reasoning behind a favorite snake.

Charlotte is a third year who is a pre-med neuro major. She loves to run, bake, and go on adventures with friends when she’s not learning music at light speed with us at rehearsal (how? How does she learn it so quickly!?) Her favorite part of Medusa is our conversations on the way home after rehearsal, even though we walk back instead of run. :( Her favorite snake is “the one from Harry Potter 1 that scares Dudley,” which might why her favorite arrangement is Kill of the Night (spooky).

Chaplin is a third year from Taiwan, majoring in Computer Science and Computational and Applied Mathematics. (wow!) Her favorite snake is naja, which she says is stereotypical but I had to look up what it means (it’s a group of snakes more commonly known as cobras). Her favorite Medusa arrangement to sing is Kill of the Night, and her favorite thing about Medusa is the amazing people.

Eva is an astrophysics major from the Chicago suburbs. Her favorite snake is her pet corn snake Ambrose, but she thinks pit vipers are also cool. Eva’s favorite Medusa arrangement is Denim Jacket, and she appreciates Medusa a safe space to make music with a femme community.

Isha is a fourth year from New York City. She is the assistant music director of rehearsal, and she loves the point of rehearsals when we know the songs well enough to turn off the lights and sing in the dark, and the harmonies pop spectacularly. She loves the arrangement of Bleeding Love/Linger, and in fact she coined the nickname “Blinger” which we now all use. She may “NOT vibe with snakes,” but she loves Medusa (the mythical person and the a cappella group).

Amelia is a third year from LA (Pasadena, if you ask nicely) and is considering studying chemistry, visual arts, and anthropology. Their favorite part of Medusa is the people, because they get to sing with their friends three times a week. (We love you, Amelia <3) She is our wonderful, haunting soloist for Kill of the Night, which is her favorite Medusa arrangement, apart from Sky Full of Song/Ribs. Amelia’s favorite snake is a green tree python because they think it would give hugs. (Good luck with that.)

Lucia is a second year from McLean, Virginia. They are also new to the group this year! Their favorite snake is the pit viper (good choice) and their favorite Medusa arrangements are Sky Full of Song/Ribs and You and I. She is majoring in coolness (undecided on majors, but is considering art history and medieval and renaissance studies).

Belle is a third year from Hewlett, NY. She’s majoring in Data Science and Theater & Performance Studies. Belle’s favorite Medusa arrangement is Silver Springs, and her favorite part of Medusa is getting to see everyone’s stunning faces and hear about their days!
